especially と同じく、副詞としてそのあとに続く形容詞や副詞節を強調する働きをします。また、形容詞の notable も「注目に値する(すべき)」という意味でよく使われます。

例文:
・The explanation about its budget is notably absent from his presentation.
 彼のプレゼンからは、特にその予算についての説明が抜けていた。

・This book is notable as the last book she wrote.
 特にこの本は彼女が最後に手がけたものとして有名です。
